Careers » The McGraw-Hill Companies Hiring Process
The McGraw-Hill Companies uses a variety of methods to identify and hire top talent. This overview will explain our most common process from start to finish.

  1. Potential candidate applies on-line
Go to our Job Search engine to see our open positions, and submit your relevant information. You have the option of creating a general profile or applying to a specific position. We recommend you first search our current openings for a position that interests you. Search often as our postings update daily. Then build your candidate profile and submit it by completing our on-line application. You can choose to build a resume on-line or attach a resume to your application. Make a note of your login and password, as you will need these for future access to our system. Once you create one profile, you will be able to apply for additional jobs using your existing profile.

Once you apply for a specific position or simply submit a general profile, you will receive an e-mail acknowledgement that your submission was received by The McGraw-Hill Companies. This acknowledgement should be received within 24 hours of submission.

  2. McGraw-Hill Staffing Consultants review candidates
McGraw-Hill staffing consultants review candidates that apply directly for specific positions. We may also search our database to identify additional candidates that meet specific criteria that have not applied directly for the open position. Therefore, even if you have not applied for a position we are currently looking to fill, we may contact you to see if you may be interested in a different opening.

  3. Interviews are scheduled
Only the most qualified applicants for the position are contacted and scheduled for interviews. The first interview may be conducted by telephone, in person or by videoconferencing. It may be conducted by a Staffing Consultant, hiring manager or a group of hiring managers. Once the first round of interviews is completed, the top applicants are scheduled for a second interview. Some of our positions may require only one interview while others may require three or more interviews.

  4. Offers are extended
The McGraw-Hill Companies contact the best applicant for the position to extend a verbal employment offer. This offer is contingent upon the successful completion of reference and background checks. The verbal offer is followed by a written offer, which includes information such as the start date, compensation, work location, etc.

Once the position is filled, all applicants who have been contacted by McGraw-Hill will receive notice via telephone or e-mail regarding their candidacy. If a candidate has not been contacted for an interview, they may not receive any notice that the position has been filled. But they will still have the opportunity to receive notice of, and apply for other openings in the corporation.

Candidates may continue to apply for future positions with The McGraw-Hill Companies. We look forward to hearing from you!
